We sailed from New York on our second cruise the previous being with Celebrity Century. We arrived at Port independantly and with plenty of time to spare which was a good job as the disembarcation arrangements were chaotic. The ship was almost new and we were able to get a balcony room for the same price we had paid for an inside room with Celebrity. The food was good but much preferred the set dining with Celebrity. The numbers of staff were also less than previously experienced and therefore the service was not so good. Due to weather had to miss one port of call so an extra day at sea but the captain was very good keeping us informed at all times. Overall a good experience. More older travellers than previous cruise

I also went on a Caribbean cruise on the Noordam last February from New York. I had previously cruised with Royal Caribbean and found Holland America far superior in every way. We did have " set dining " on the cruise and we had a choice as to early or late sitting. Our service was excellent and we had no complaints whatsoever. Our Canadian friends were with us and they have also cruised with numerous companies and they also found the cruise on the Noordam first class.
