We cruised to Alaska with Celebrity Mercury in August 2007 and had a wonderful time, scenery was awesome,called at Juneau, Skagway and Ketchigan. Excursions we did were all very good but the highlight was a helicopter ride to a glacier, which we then walked about with a guide, Hubbard Glacier was spectacular and Mercury's captain sailed within 1/3 mile of the glacier where we saw many calvings(falling into sea). I'm sure you'll have a wonderful time, remember to pack layers this will keep you warm and you can always remove them if it warms up, which it can do!
